MINISTRY of CONSISTENCY

1 Corinthians 9:7

King James Version

7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges?

who planteth a vineyard,

and eateth not of the fruit thereof?

or who feedeth a flock,

and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

One of the challenges of ministry is consistency.

We must be true to what we teach.

That applies to my writing ministry.

I must be true to GOD.

True to JESUS.

True to the HOLY SPIRIT.

True to Scripture.

True to GOD's laws.

True to you.

Apostle Paul gives us guidelines for such a path:

1 Corinthians 9:10

King James Version

10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes?

For our sakes, no doubt, this is written:

that he that ploweth should plow in hope;

and that he that thresheth in hope

should be partaker of his hope.

1 Corinthians 9:13

King James Version

13 Do ye not know that they which minister

about holy things live of the things of the temple?

and they which wait at the altar

are partakers with the altar?

1 Corinthians 9:14

King James Version

14 Even so hath the Lord ordained

that they which preach the gospel

should live of the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9:15-16

King James Version

15 But I have used none of these things:

neither have I written these things,

that it should be so done unto me:

for it were better for me to die,

than that any man should make my glorying void.

16 For though I preach the gospel,

I have nothing to glory of:

for necessity is laid upon me;

yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

1 Corinthians 9:18

King James Version

18 What is my reward then?

Verily that, when I preach the gospel,

I may make the gospel of Christ without charge,

 that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9:19

King James Version

19 For though I be free from all men,

yet have I made myself servant unto all,

that I might gain the more.

1 Corinthians 9:20-23

King James Version

20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew,

that I might gain the Jews;

to them that are under the law, as under the law,

that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law,

(being not without law to God,

but under the law to Christ,)

that I might gain them that are without law.

22 To the weak became I as weak,

that I might gain the weak:

I am made all things to all men,

that I might by all means save some.

23 And this I do for the gospel's sake,

that I might be partaker thereof with you.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

King James Version

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly;

so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body,

and bring it into subjection:

lest that by any means,

when I have preached to others,

I myself should be a castaway.

MORTIFIED at my own ignorance

Acts 17:30-31

King James Version

30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at;

but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

31 Because he hath appointed a day,

in the which he will judge the world in righteousness

by that man whom he hath ordained;

whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,

in that he hath raised him from the dead.

I was ignorant for a very long time.

Not knowing the laws of GOD.

Not knowing the saving blood of JESUS.

Not knowing the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Such was my great ignorance.

Sinning in all ways.

But unaware that I was.

Continuing about my daily life.

In complete ignorance.

But GOD allowed all that.

Knowing I'd wake up one day.

That day eventually came.

I could no longer stand to sin.

I wanted to know absolute truth.

Which I have sought out.

Almost all my life.

GOD eventually showed up.

Making me born again in 2019.

After that, it was a 180-degree turn.

The only turn GOD cares for.

Turning my back on the world's evil ways.

Of which I had been part and parcel of.

GOD saved me on time.

He's always known I was His.

He allowed me my mistakes.

That I would see for myself.

And come to a realization.

At the sickness of sin.

And at the need for repentance.

All the while observing my times.

Knowing I would see His LIGHT.

His JESUS.

Which eventually came.

And I am grateful forevermore.

I feel loved.

For I am saved.

From my own ignorance.

And from the enemy who lurks.

Within, and without.

But he's no match for the LORD.

Who has power over everything.

Who knows those who love Him.

Who knows those who seek Him.

Even if they don't know it's Him they seek.

GOD shows up at His own time.

When He sees we're good, and ready.

For the LIGHT of the GOSPEL.

For the saving power of His Son.

And of the workings of the Triune GOD.

These verses show my earlier path.

Paved with great ignorance.

Not so much willfulness.

As much as pure ignorance.

Proverbs 19:2-3

King James Version

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.

Ephesians 4:17-20

King James Version

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

Colossians 2:8

King James Version

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1-2

King James Version

4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

1 John 4:1

King James Version

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

But no longer.

Now, I know GOD's laws.

And I intend to sin no more.

By the grace of JESUS CHRIST.

John 1:17

King James Version

17 For the law was given by Moses,

but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

After repentance, perfection is the path.

JESUS asked that of us.

That we may be worthy of the LORD.

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father which is in heaven

is perfect.

A born again moves forward with CHRIST.

We keep closely to His side, that we may obey GOD's will.

A PERFECT way to start the year.

Whether it's 2023, or any succeeding year.

Praying that we be worthy of JESUS.

For the RAPTURE is certain.

WITHOUT guile

Psalm 32:2

King James Version

2 Blessed is the man

unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity,

and in whose spirit there is no guile.

My born again goal is to have a pure heart.

Might take me several lifetimes to do so.

Nevertheless, I'm on it.

Perhaps, that's why I was drawn to this particular verse.

What did "the Lord imputeth not iniquity" and "no guile" mean?

We checked other Bible versions, that we may be sure.

DAILY diligence

Psalm 77:6

King James Version

6 I call to remembrance my song in the night:

I commune with mine own heart:

and my spirit made diligent search.

Great gains are made by little efforts.

Daily efforts.

To learn to love.

To pay attention to Scripture.

To live by the Bible.

That we may know GOD's laws.

Merriam-Webster defines "diligence":

"steady, earnest, and energetic effort :

devoted and painstaking work and application

to accomplish an undertaking :

ASSIDUITY"

In our walk with the LORD, let us be pure, devoted, attentive, steadfast, watchful, prayerful, constant, and consistent.

JESUS was diligent:

Mark 1:35

King James Version

35 And in the morning,

rising up a great while before day,

he went out,

and departed into a solitary place,

and there prayed.

John 17:4

King James Version

4 I have glorified thee on the earth:

I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

It is necessary to be diligent.

The LORD JESUS explains why:

Matthew 26:41

King James Version

41 Watch and pray,

that ye enter not into temptation:

the spirit indeed is willing,

but the flesh is weak.

John 5:39

King James Version

39 Search the scriptures;

for in them ye think ye have eternal life:

and they are they which testify of me.

The Bible tells us why it's important to be diligent -- watchful, and prayerful:

1 Peter 5:8

King James Version

8 Be sober,

be vigilant;

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion, walketh about,

seeking whom he may devour:

Scripture tells us more about diligence:

Exodus 15:26

King James Version

26 And said,

If thou wilt diligently hearken

to the voice of the Lord thy God,

and wilt do that which is right in his sight,

and wilt give ear to his commandments,

and keep all his statutes,

I will put none of these diseases upon thee,

which I have brought upon the Egyptians:

for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Deuteronomy 4:9

King James Version

9 Only take heed to thyself,

and keep thy soul diligently,

lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen,

and lest they depart from thy heart

all the days of thy life:

but teach them thy sons,

and thy sons' sons;

Deuteronomy 6:17

King James Version

17 Ye shall diligently keep

the commandments of the Lord your God,

and his testimonies,

and his statutes,

which he hath commanded thee.

Deuteronomy 28:1

King James Version

28 And it shall come to pass,

if thou shalt hearken diligently

unto the voice of the Lord thy God,

to observe and to do all his commandments

which I command thee this day,

that the Lord thy God will set thee on high

above all nations of the earth:

1 Chronicles 22:19

King James Version

19 Now set your heart and your soul

to seek the Lord your God;

arise therefore,

and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God,

to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord,

and the holy vessels of God,

into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 31:21

King James Version

21 And in every work that he began

in the service of the house of God,

and in the law,

and in the commandments,

to seek his God,

he did it with all his heart,

and prospered.

Ezra 5:8

King James Version

8 Be it known unto the king,

that we went into the province of Judea,

to the house of the great God,

which is builded with great stones,

and timber is laid in the walls,

and this work goeth fast on,

and prospereth in their hands.

Psalm 119:4

King James Version

4 Thou hast commanded us

to keep thy precepts diligently.

Psalm 119:60

King James Version

60 I made haste,

and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

Proverbs 4:13

King James Version

13 Take fast hold of instruction;

let her not go:

keep her;

for she is thy life.

Proverbs 4:23

King James Version

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence;

for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 8:17

King James Version

17 I love them that love me;

and those that seek me early shall find me.

Proverbs 11:27

King James Version

27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour:

but he that seeketh mischief,

it shall come unto him.

Proverbs 13:4

King James Version

4 The soul of the sluggard desireth,

and hath nothing:

but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Proverbs 27:23

King James Version

23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,

and look well to thy herds.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

King James Version

10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,

do it with thy might;

for there is no work,

nor device,

nor knowledge,

nor wisdom,

in the grave,

whither thou goest.

Isaiah 55:1-3

King James Version

55 Ho, every one that thirsteth,

come ye to the waters,

and he that hath no money;

come ye, buy, and eat;

yea, come, buy wine and milk without money

and without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?

and your labour for that which satisfieth not?

hearken diligently unto me,

and eat ye that which is good,

and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Incline your ear,

and come unto me:

hear,

and your soul shall live;

and I will make an everlasting covenant with you,

even the sure mercies of David.

Jeremiah 15:16

King James Version

16 Thy words were found,

and I did eat them;

and thy word was unto me

the joy and rejoicing of mine heart:

for I am called by thy name,

O Lord God of hosts.

Jeremiah 33:3

King James Version

3 Call unto me,

and I will answer thee,

and show thee great and mighty things,

which thou knowest not.

Acts 5:42

King James Version

42 And daily in the temple,

and in every house,

they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Acts 17:10-11

King James Version

10 And the brethren immediately sent away

Paul and Silas by night unto Berea:

who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,

in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,

and searched the scriptures daily,

whether those things were so.

Acts 18:24-25

King James Version

24 And a certain Jew named Apollos,

born at Alexandria,

an eloquent man,

and mighty in the scriptures,

came to Ephesus.

25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord;

and being fervent in the spirit,

he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord,

knowing only the baptism of John.

Romans 6:13

King James Version

13 Neither yield ye your members

as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:

but yield yourselves unto God,

as those that are alive from the dead,

and your members

as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 10:17

King James Version

17 So then faith cometh by hearing,

and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 12:11

King James Version

11 Not slothful in business;

fervent in spirit;

serving the Lord;

1 Corinthians 2:14

King James Version

14 But the natural man receiveth not

the things of the Spirit of God:

for they are foolishness unto him:

neither can he know them,

because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 15:58

King James Version

58 Therefore,

my beloved brethren,

be ye stedfast,

unmoveable,

always abounding in the work of the Lord,

forasmuch as ye know

that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Galatians 2:16

King James Version

16 Knowing that a man

is not justified by the works of the law,
